Today on our 2016 Honda Fit we're going to be taking a look at and installing the CURT class one trailer hitch receiver, part number C11406. This is what the hitch looks like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it still maintains a pretty clean look underneath the vehicle, doesn't really take away from it at all. Here you can also see that it should give us plenty of clearance for any bike racks or cargo carriers that we may want to mount to this, because it comes close but not all the way out to the rear of the bumper. Here we've got the 1/2» hitch pinhole in order to secure anything that we may put into our receiver tube. We've got the flat plate-style safety chain loops with the cutout holes in them. This hitch makes for a very easy install as it has three points that it secures, one in either frame rail and then one under here to the tow hook. It features a 200 pound max tongue weight rating and a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, but you will want to be sure to check the owners manual to see if your vehicle is capable of carrying that type of weight. CURT does recommend using a stabilizing strap when carrying things like bike racks and cargo carriers. Some people have been worried about what kind of ground clearance you'll get back here, but it is tucked up nicely to the fascia that's under here, so there really isn't a whole lot to worry about when it comes...
