Sony Camcorder C:31:23 cassette error fixed quickly

Hitting things always makes them better, some of the most of the nearly every time. I had some problems trying to get my rather old Sony Camera (TRV-480E) working again, it kept throwing up an arror message, the dreaded C:31:23, or "Re-Insert Cassette" I looked online for hours to find a simple solution and stumbling through a Sony Forum, one user suggested giving the camera a smack in the tape-deck when the tape begins to spool up upon a re-insert... It worked oh the joy!
