Lapland, 1944: World War II is nearing its end, and a lone gold prospector, Aatami Korpi, a former Finnish soldier with an almost legendary reputation, discovers a rich vein in the middle of the scorched northern wilderness. His journey to the nearest town crosses paths with a retreating Nazi unit, which decides to take the gold from the silent old man and quickly realizes that he is not a helpless traveler, but a man who has survived too much to fear death. The pursuit across harsh landscapes turns into a merciless fight for survival, where Aatami acts with stubborn, almost mythical endurance, while his enemies one by one face a force that cannot be broken by ordinary violence.
