The Guardian™ Sensor (3) glucose sensor is part of a Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system by Medtronic. I will show you how to install the Guardian Sensor to the abdomen. Important Notes: * A Guardian Link 3 Transmitter should be charged fully before insertion. * It is generally recommended to insert a sensor to the upper back arms. I prefer the abdominal area. It works for me. The sensor performs correctly being installed in the abdomen. Also, it is very easy to put it there because I can use both hands to fix the tape. * The sensor warming up usually takes up to two hours. Also, the first calibration after inserting occurs after 8 hours. Take this into account to plan your sensor insertion time. To install the Guardian Sensor 3, you will need the following. * A Guardian Sensor 3. * The Guardian Link 3 - a transmitter between the pump and the sensor. * A setter - although you may manually install the sensor, I always recommend that you use a special setter. * Two tapes. Those are two identical tapes. Use the first tape to fix the sensor. Plug in the transmitter and use the second sensor to fix the transmitter after that.
