Tarantella Napoletana [Italian folk music]

A tarantella is an Italian folk dance, characterised by a fast upbeat tempo and usually accompanied by tambourines. This tarantella from Naples has become world famous, and is somewhat regarded as a quintessentially Italian melody. Performed by French musician Joel Francisco Perri (b. 1945) on the mandolin. The accompanying painting depicts a man and a woman dancing a tarantella, with the Vesuvius in the background.
