В латинском языке слово margo является заимствованием. История его заимствования восходит к катастрофе при Каррах в 53 г. до н. э., когда десятки тысяч римлян в одночасье узнали о судьбе своей родни, попавшей в плен и закинутой судьбой в далекую Маргиану. There is no clear etymology of the Latin word margo and the root marg. The sudden appearance of the word margo in Latin points to it being borrowed, which was a common occurrence. The word margo quickly squeezed out the Latin ora in everyday colloquial speech. Initially it appears in writing as base style which, like its rapid spread among common people suggests that it was a borrowed word. In the summer of the year 53 BC thousands of Roman families lost their breadwinners. No fewer than 10,000 Roman men were taken prisoner by Parthians. The enemy sent them to Margiana. Marg, Margiana became the prisoners&new home for the rest of their lives.
