Friends! Today is a special day. After a year and a half of the film «HIDEGGER» knocking on the doors of festivals and competitions, the time has come to show the picture to the public. But I am afraid of failure. And it's not that my timid steps are not audible. I have not mastered the marching step, and as for the bowing, I have trampled enough feet to find teachers whose blisters I have not stepped on at least once... But the themes explored in the film will not leave you indifferent. Why am I so naive? First, I made a feature film all by myself, without taking a penny from a banker or a minister. Second, I settled scores with the past, cracking open my fears and smoking out the shadows of forgotten ancestors from the corners where they hoped to hide. Thirdly, by calling the film «Heidegger,» I never showed the German philosopher in the film, for which I was accused of self-promotion, which, however, is not far from the truth. After all, in a treatise on non-existence, insignificance, the unimaginable/the inexpressible, which I sent to 400 universities, 2,500 phenomenologists, logicians, and theologians, I stated that «philosophers should be sent home, as the case of philosophy is closed and filed in the archives.» I was not forgiven for my arrogance. And, wanting to add fuel to the fire, I picked up a camera after 25 years of silence. Perhaps «Heidegger» will be compared to Bergman's «Persona,» Fellini's «Amarcord,» and Tarkovsky's «Mirror.» However, my path is...
