Sam Lawton is traveling with his colleagues on a corporate retreat, but just before their bus reaches a suspension bridge, he is struck by a terrifying premonition of disaster. Sam’s panic saves several people from death, but the relief does not last long: soon the survivors realize that death is once again restoring the broken order and finding ever more elaborate ways to claim each of them. As Sam tries to protect Molly and understand the frightening pattern, the mysterious coroner Bludworth hints that the survivors may have a chance to change the rules.
