«The Merry-go-round Broke Down» (Looney Tunes theme)

10/21/2012-I have since had this roll recut and I have copies if anyone has a player and would want one. If you are interested send me a message @ mechanicmusic45 This is a Paramount Roll in very bad condition. The leader is damaged and I can not read any other information about it on the box or roll. The edges of the roll are frayed and the paper is so dry any attempts to repair it cause additional damage, but it still plays well and it's a fun song, so enjoy it as my 1923 Harrington player performs it. This song, written in 1937 by Cliff Friend and Dave Franklin is best known as the theme tune for «Looney Tunes Cartoons» from Warner Bros. It was used from 1937 until 1969. It was used in «Who Framed Roger Rabbit» and at the end of «Space Jam». In the 60's and early 70's «The Grateful Dead» sometimes used it as filler when some of them were tuning up! Enjoy the ride..
