How to replace the thermostat on a Toyota Camry 2.4L Corolla Matrix RAV-4 Solara and Highlander. Many of the Toyota vehicles with the 2.4L 2AZ-FE Changing the thermostat on a Toyota Camry is not hard at all. You need to find the thermostat housing and then the thermostat sits behind that. 2 10MM bolts hold the thermostat housing to the block. 2 studs come out of the block that the nuts attach too. Remove the 2 nuts and then the thermostat housing is free. Pop that off the block and you will gain access to the Toyota thermostat. Once that is in sight grab some pliers and pop it out. Have the new thermostat ahndy so you can slap the new one in as quickly as you can so you lose less coolant. Also make sure the old gasket / o-ring comes out with the old one. Check your coolant level and top off radiator or coolant reservoir tank with Approved Toyota coolant for you make and model of car.
