Old signaling and safety railway station box device looks like the history, dating from a century ago, but it is still in use. There is one central in the station, operated by the train dispatcher (station master), and two more at the ends on both sides of the station, which are handled by the switchman. With a system of levers, chains, cables and safety connections, this device controlling track junctions and signals. It is a system of electromechanical dependence, which controls certain operations and reduces the role of the human factor in controlling the movement of trains. It is still in use on some very old railway lines in Serbia. This video shows a lone switchman operating such a device and enables the movement of trains in his station. Many frames related to the movement of railroad crossing devices, track junctions and station home and track signals, shown through the movement of the old chains through the old chain lines and old underground ducts. These interesting chainways extend from signal box to track devices. There is also a railway dog in the scene. He is always there to keep the railwaymen and to chase the wheels of passing trains. This is a very old and neglected railway station located on the Subotica - Sombor - Vinkovci railway line.
