**IMPORTANT UPDATE 05/28/2023: This siren was removed and was taken to the repair shop for repairs to the siren. The chopper motor is dead. County plans to reinstall this siren by spring 2024. I repeat, this siren will be reinstalled and put back in service next year.** *I do not make any money from my videos I post on my YouTube channel.* Recorded on November 17, 2012. "Weekly Test" of the Newberry County outdoor warning system. This siren was tested every Saturday at 12:00 PM ET (now tested at the last Saturday of every month at noon). This siren is used for tornado watches, tornado warnings, and other emergencies. (Alert; Tornado Watch; Attack; Tornado Warning; Hi-Lo; Weekly Test) This siren was installed in 1963 and is over 50 years in service today! This is the first time I ever heard a Thunderbolt siren (including "Hi-Lo" [fire] signal)! This siren started like 2 minutes late! As this siren winds-down, the blower, solenoid boxes, and the rotator cuts off for a little and it turns on. Me and ACAPenetrator50 were recording this siren together! This siren is located in Silverstreet, South Carolina at Silverstreet Fire Department off of Main Street across from a park.
