Let Me Be Good to You (Male Cover) Disney's The Great Mouse Detective Written by: Melissa Manchester -------------------------------------- The Great Mouse Detective brings us one step closer to the Disney Renaissance Era. Heavily influenced by Miyazaki's «Lupin» and featuring the directorial debut of John Musker & Ron Clements (Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Princess & the Frog, Moana), the movie has a fantastic voice cast, including a campy Vincent Price. The song «Let Me Be Good To You» was written and performed by Melissa Manchester, but not before Michael Eisner suggested Michael Jackson and Madonna, which was met with «uncomfortable silence» during meetings. I'm also pretty sure that this is the only burlesque number in the Disney canon!
