Song A Week 81 (All I Want Is You) I'm back after taking a week off and I'm bringing one of my all time favs. All I Want Is You is real sweet little number from a great band in the midst of their greatest era (Unforgettable Fire to Achtung Baby). Rattle and Hum seems to be kind of forgotten these days, yeah it had lot's of live versions of their stuff, but it also has some killer stuff on it. The whole thing was really loose and had a gospel, Rolling Stones, 50s vibe going on, I like it more and more as time goes by. This was the last song on the album and really stunned me with it's beauty from the very first time I heard it up till today. My brother bought me the single (in record form) for my birthday and I listened to that over and over and still have it today. Thanks Bro...if I didn't tell you before, it was a great present! The song is a case study in how you really can write a song with basically two chords, some powerful lyrics and great melodies. I was going to try this one last week, but Bono has a way of singing a little behind the beat in some parts that I didn't really have quite right and it sounded kinda crappy. The album version of the song is also like seven minutes long and I hadn't quite figured out how I was going to end the thing three minutes early.
