In 1930s New York, private investigator Ben Reilly has long since abandoned his life as the masked vigilante known as the Spider after the death of his fiancée, Ruby Williams. Five years later, a case involving criminal Jimmy Addison draws him back toward the city’s underworld. After Addison is killed by Donegal, Ben takes another job investigating nightclub singer Cat Hardy, only to uncover ties to Mayor Alfred Morris, crime boss Silvermane, and a dangerous man named Flint Marko. When Donegal is murdered and Cat turns the case back on Ben, he finds himself pulled into a conflict he can no longer avoid.
