Hava Nagila - הבה נגילה It is considered the best known and happiest Jewish song. In fact, in the Hasidic tradition, being joyful is a mitzvah (commandment). This makes a lot of sense if we are happy we drive away stress and anxiety. The most important thing is that we attract blessing and peace. This song is mainly used at Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and Chuppahs (Jewish weddings). The song was created about a thousand years ago by the Jeshiva student; Moshe Nathason, 12 years old. Inspired by Psalm 118, verse 24: "This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it."
