While most stuff featured on this channel is old(ish), it doesn‘t usually seem to take a lot of time for people to decide if synths are cool or not. Unless it‘s a TB303 or a TR Drum machine of course, synths are usually either adopted into the collective heart of the synth crowd or not. Judging from the little non paid, non influencer attention, the ‚IK Multimedia Uno Synth‘ got (which might or might not be caused by this naming itself), it probably belongs to the second category. With Behringer and Korg stealing all the attention in the increasingly crowded affordable synths pocket it’s easy to understand why this little Italian synth gigolo isn’t on anybody’s bucket list. While it looks minimalistic, IK managed to squeeze a whole lot of mono synth into the Uno. It’s actually a fully fledged and well equipped 2 Osc monosynth with a lot of modulation options, a multimode filter, a capable apreggiator, built in sequencer and 80 slots to save and recall your patches on the fly. Sure, you might want to hook it up to a proper keyboard (preferably one with assignable midi controller knobs) to unlock it’s full potential, but if you squeeze your eyes and ears really hard, it more than resembles a sh101 both in features and sound, but at a price point that even Behringer can’t compete with. And as the Uno already has a superior successor lurking around the corner, I’m pretty sure Unos will be pushed of the shelves of a synth dealer near you for even less than the already very...
