Purcell - Chaconne from The Fairy Queen

Henry Purcell (1659-1695) - Chaconne from his semi-opera The Fairy Queen (Z.629) First performed in 1692, the semi-opera The Fairy Queen was an adaptation to music of Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. This famous Chaconne, subtitled «Dance For Chinese Man And Woman,» is part of the 5th Act of Purcell's semi-opera. The instrumentation used in this recording is: mandolins 1, 2, and 3, acoustic guitar, and acoustic bass guitar. All of the instruments were performed by Paulo Sudhaus.
