This structure, property of the City, was created in 1962 under the name of municipal stadium, it took the name of “Stade Gaston PETIT” in tribute to the former Mayor of Châteauroux between 1967 and 1971 who was a loyal supporter of the club . La Berrichonne Football has been playing in this arena since the 1960s and has written the most beautiful pages of its history there, notably with its accession to the 1st Division in 1997.
