Each episode begins with Mio and Mao rolling and tumbling across a fantastic world of clay accompanied by their charming music tune: Mio, Mao, la, la, la, la, la.... While doing so, their attention is drawn by some strange sound: What is it? Their curiosity leads them to watch from the distance: It is a mysterious moving shape.
