Please note. 1. Windows NT 5.0 has a fake shutdown sound. It was used for Windows 2000 build 1946 to 1969. Only Windows NT 5.0 has a Windows NT 4.0 shutdown sound. 2. Windows NT 5.0 used Windows NT 4.0 sounds from build 1515 to 1631. From 1671 to 1835 Windows NT 5.0 has long startup sound but it still uses the Windows NT 4.0 sounds as well. From 1848 to 1911, Windows NT5.0 has finally uses it’s own sounds and also new sounds as well. 3. Windows Whistler has a fake start-up sound and the fake shutdown sound. The fake startup sound was like the reversed Windows 98 shutdown sound effect, Microsoft Entertainment Pack: Puzzle Collection Spring Weekend Clear Level but lower pitch and slow sound effect and reversed Windows 2000 build 1983-2000. The fake shutdown sound was the BeOS second startup sound. Whistler uses Windows 2000/ME RTM sounds. 4. Windows Server 2003 has a fake startup sound. People say that it was used as you startup the computer from the UK but it’s actually not. It’s actually used from the promotional video of the Windows Server 2003 animation. Windows Server 2003 uses Windows XP startup sound from both the USA and UK. 5. Windows Longhorn has a fake startup and shutdown Sound. The fake Windows Longhorn sounds are actually used in Samsung theme for Windows XP. Windows Longhorn actually uses Windows XP sounds. 6. Windows Vista Beta 1 and 2 had a fake start-up sound. 1.
