Hello there guitar enthusiasts! In this episode I decided to record a quick demo of my trusty Takamine acoustic guitar. A couple of years ago I was in need for a "quick" and cheaper acoustic guitar before embarking on tour and I entered a music shop in search for my future music companion. I decided to go for a Takamine since I knew that you can find some good guitars for decent money. This was the love on first sight! As soon as I grabbed it and started playing I knew I would end up buying it. I tend to joke and say that it was almost something like that Harry Potter scene when a wand just flies into his hands :) Did you also have such experiences with your instruments? If so, please do share! Anyways, in this video I also did a 3-way comparison: mic, line & combined. When it comes to the "dry sound", I think the guitar has some kind of a naturally built-in "smile" eq curve, meaning that it has a nice and round bottom end and is really percussive in the higher register, while the mids are a bit tamed. This is exactly what I like in acoustic guitars. However, I am not saying that it&lacking the mid range; feels just enough in my taste. Speaking of "line in" combination, the guitar is equipped with a Takamine 3 band eq (low, mid, high) preamp and a tuner. Comes in really handy on stage and with the sound that will never let you down. When it comes to audio editing, only a bit of it was applied, meaning I did some light compression and eq, killing some whistling frequencies...
