A playthrough of American Laser Games&1990 arcade FMV light gun shooter, Mad Dog McCree. This video shows the game being played as it appeared in Majesco&2009 compilation disc for the Nintendo Wii, Mad Dog McCree: Gunslinger Pack. What is there really to say about Mad Dog McCree that hasn&already been said a million times since its release in 1990? It&appeared on nearly every platform it could&possibly been put on (though it is strangely absent on the big 32-bit platforms), and the game doesn&change between them. Well, except for the quality of the graphics. The original game was on a laserdisc, which still looks good even now, and some of those older ports didn&shall we say... do justice to it. The Sega CD port, anyone? The Wii version looks great, though. There are a few compression and interlacing artifacts, but the video is generally really clean and clear. The Wii remote is the perfect controller for the game, and if you like the old light gun rail shooters, you&probably already played it. If not, Mad Dog McCree is a blast, but it&very difficult. There is relief if you persist though. Since the game is all full-screen FMV (no sprite overlays here!), the action doesn&vary a whole lot from game to game. With regular playing you&eventually start to memorize scene cues and enemy placements, and the whole thing starts to become much easier. And more fun, I&always thought. If you like American Laser Games&stuff, I&really recommend the Wii&Gunslinger Pack. I love this...
