This video describes how to print the SoarKraft airframes with foaming LW-PLA available from ether ColorFabb or E-Sun. I am SoarKraft and not sponsored by anyone else, my opinions are my own, and the video tells the story. This Foaming PLA expands as it is heated above 230 degree C, and at 250 degrees C it expands to ~ 50% ... so the printing nozzle prints a bead of material that looks the same as regular PLA, but is 50% the density... or half the weight. So Cool... however the print settings are important to get correct for good results. Here is also a link to the new e-Sun foaming material that just became available. This is the foaming stuff... but 1kg and much better price than ColorFabb ColorFabb LW-PLA is great material, available in more colors, but harder to get and more expensive. The Roughgen V2 is a carbon reinforced slope glider airframe that is 3D printed, designed for speed and rough terrain landing. The design is based on performance and F3F competition models of the past 30 years, but as a 3D print-able version. Flies like a molded airframe, but 3D printed... so if you crash it, print another.
