I have recorded this video because there is no useful information about the power consumption of Intel`s Skylake, at least not until this video was recorded. So when I bought this CPU and MoBo I decided to record it and upload to inform more people. Sorry because of the screen but it is an old CRT monitor. This is my "testing gear" anyway. I know it shouldn`t but if anything goes wrong it won`t blow up a full HD screen. So before I start to use anything I like to test them. Anyway, as you see the power consumption is very good. The PSU alone without any load have an 11W power consumption. So, a good PSU makes it even better. I compared to an AMD Phenom II x4 810 CPU that I had this time too. Actually this G4400 is more powerfull in gaming. I used the x4 810 with 16gb RAM and HD 7750 graphics card. Novabench says the G4400 CPU is bit less powerful than x4 810 however G4400 memory controller is better and combined with HD 7750 it can outperform the x4 810 easily. The x4 810 idle power consumption was about 90 watts and 200 watts on full load. G4400 idle power consumption with the HD 7750 is about 50 watts and 170 watts full load. But don`t forget that 170 watts gives you smoother and better gaming experience than x4 810. AMD was also really good in its time but now we need something more efficient.
