Information is provided on screen for both right and left-handed players! Crazy Little Thing Called Love is often cited as a good song for beginners, and that would be true if it weren&for the Bb barre chord that appears in all the choruses. It&also FAST! Outside of that, though, the song makes use of mostly D major, G major and C major. The verses embellish the D chord by using the little finger to throw in quick Dsus4 chords. The song is technically in 12/8 time, but I&taken a simpler route here of notating it as swung 4/4. The strumming rhythm has a stronger emphasis on the 2 and 4 beats (although this is reduced down to just the 2nd beat in the intro). The main strum pattern is: DUDU-UDU. Freddie Mercury played the acoustic guitar part on the original recording and used a 12-string guitar. He often joked on stage that he didn&really know how to play, but it was clear that he did have more ability than he let on. He had some quirks in the way he formed some of these chords, though, often only half making the G major and playing it something like (low-to-high): 3-2-0-0-0-x. He also didn&appear to use a plectrum and would chop into his strums with the palm of his hand.
