XIAOMI / Mijia / IMI Labs CMSXJ11A Wireless IP Camera Setup Video and Mini Review

I picked this up a while back on Bangood's preorder page. I needed an Arlo style camera that I could drop anywhere within wifi range and didn't want the hassle of power wires. I ran into some issues with the setup, so I thought I'd document the pairing process. The Mi Home IOS app only makes certain products available based on the region setting in your profile. So if you're having trouble finding the device in the device listing, set your profile location to «China», then Add a Device, next browse to the «Household ID Security» section, and then select «IMI Wire Free Camera» in the Gateway section. Follow the instructions on how to pair to the gateway first, then follow the instructions on how to pair the gateway to the camera. I'll follow up in a few days with some thoughts about whether or not this $88 camera is a viable alternative to the Arlo style cameras on Amazon. BG Affiliate Link:
