Untold story of how Enjoy Records and Bobby Robinson helped put early Hip-Hop on wax, before whole world was listening. At end of 1970&Hip-Hop exploded onto vinyl with Rapper&Delight, but that record didn&reflect what was really happening in parks, rec rooms and block parties of New York. This documentary tells story of Bobby Robinson, World War II veteran turned Harlem record shop owner, whose label Enjoy Records quietly captured Hip-Hop as it actually existed. Drawing on archival interviews, first-hand accounts, and music itself, we trace Robinson&journey from rural South Carolina to 125th Street, his role in launching Gladys Knight & Pips, and how he went on to release some of earliest records by Grandmaster Flash, Funky 4+1, Treacherous Three, and more - documenting crucial moment before Hip-Hop became industry.
