In this video, you can enjoy the cab ride - a train driver&view from Andermatt to Disentis-Mustér in Switzerland on the famous Glacier Express in the resolution of 4K/60 frames per second. Glacier Express (GEX), known as the “slowest express train in the world” is a direct eight-hour end-to-end connection between major Swiss mountain resorts of Zermatt and St. Moritz. Operated by a joint-venture between Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn (MGB) and Rhaetian Bahn (RhB) on the narrow (meter-gauge) railway network in the Swiss central Alps it provides (together with Bernina Express) scenic and exclusive experience. Third part of our trip takes the Glacier Express train over the Operalp pass, a second part of the historic Furka-Oberalp railway connecting Brig (at the north portal of Simplon Tunnel) via Andermatt (connected by the north portal of Gotthard tunnel via Schöllenenbahn) with Disentis/Muster. From Andermatt we climb quickly on a zig-zagging rack railway section, rising 400 meters over just over 5 kilometers of distance. After reaching the Nätschen we gradually climb for 5 more kilometers to reach the highest point of the line at Oberalppass, at just over 2000 meters above sea level. After Oberalp, we descend through a series of tunnels and galleries into the valley of Vorderrhein (Rhein Anteriur) river, one of the two main sources of the river Rhine.
