--- Following HP 950, 950XL, 951 or 951 ink cartridges installation into your Pro 8100 ( -- Model ) printer, if the message “ ”, " Printhead " or “ or Printhead “ is observed, then this could be caused by one (or more) of the 950-951 having an insufficient amount of ink inside. In most cases, particularly if the cartridge was refilled, one of the cartridges is empty but the cartridge’s electronic smart chip is telling the printer it has a full ink load. The respective or is generated due to air being ingested into the printer’s internal PRINTHEAD assembly and the presence of ink is not being via inside the ink cartridge. Thus as a precaution to protect the printer, the printer is shutdown to avoid burning out hundreds of small electronic ink inside the assembly. Remove all four and (or and weigh them with a scale to help determine which cartridge has an inadequate amount of ink inside (i.e. compare like cartridges against each other). The lightest ink cartridge, in comparison to other available full cartridges, will usually reveal the likely culprit. Replace suspect cartridge, or all four ink cartridges, with brand HP ink cartridges to completely eliminate root cause of both ink volume and attached chip compatibility. Note: Other printer error messages which could signify a PRINTHEAD problem include “Ink Cartridge “Cartridge Damaged”, “Printhead Failure”, “There is a with the system” , “ “ or “The following cartridges are for use in this Printer”.
