# 18 Tecsun H-501X Scans of SW-MW-FM

I am learning to scan the Tecsun H-501X. In this video, I set the radio to run a full scan of the Short Wave Bands. You can watch the frequency numbers and the PO memory saving locations. Once the can is complete, I can go back to PO and run up through the memory locations to see and hear what was selected. The scan erased all the previous stored memories and started fresh. This was about 6 pm and still a bit early for better scans.Religion, politics, or Spanish. Take your pick. Next, I scanned the Medium Wave Band.This time I picked up English News Stations. Then I ran the FM channels. They come in really fast and are very clear. And because this radio has remarkable speakers, the sound is fantastic. These scans were using the MLA-30+ Loop Antennas. Later in the evening, I realized I had forgotten to turn off the large tv and Echo Show, both of which add noise; so I would probably had better signals had I not made that mistake.Someone suggested that I order a set of ferrite beads to add to the cables to reduce the noise.
