HMS Cutlass has been officially commissioned this morning as a patrol boat for the Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron. The vessel was specifically designed by Merseyside-based Marine Specialised Technology with Gibraltar and its waters in mind and comes at a cost of five million pounds. It forms part of a ten million pound investment in the Gibraltar Squadron. She can reach 40 knots, double that of her predecessors, Dasher and Pursuer. At a commissioning ceremony, the introduction of the vessel was described as a major milestone.
