Ibanez GSR200 Bass PhattII EQ bypass for passive output

Just did a quick and easy wire change to get the passive signal directly to the output jack. I feel like the bass sounds fuller now with a deeper tone. I wonder if or how that PhatII circuit was affecting the sound? Maybe it was compressing it a bit? Not sure, but it seemed to open up the sound a bit! Sorry for the poor audio, it’s my first post.
