Adverb Clauses have a lot in common with Prepositional Phrases. ADVERBIAL CLAUSES include Concession Clauses, Clauses of Purpose, Clauses of Result, Time Clauses, Clauses of Place, Condition Clauses, Clauses of Manner, Clauses of Comparison, and Clauses of Reason. Adverbial Clauses function in much the same way as PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES, at least ones that modify verbs. If you can do prep phrases, then you can do Adverb Clauses.
