Thompson) birthday and his father (Mr. T) invites him to go outside and enjoy himself. Outside, Flint’s (Bill Hader) machine is producing an ice cream snow. Streets are covered with various flavors of ice cream and children are building snowmen and fighting with snowballs. What’s the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs about? Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) lives with his fisherman father Tim (James Caan) and his pet monkey Steve (Neil Patrick Harris) in Swallow Falls, an island in the Atlantic Ocean with an economy focused on sardines. When, one day, the world decides that sardines are unsavory, Swallow Falls’ economy falls and its people are forced to subsist on a diet based almost exclusively on sardines. Flint, who always has dreamt to be a scientist, decides to help the city by inventing a device that will change water into food. After several failed attempts to plug his machine, Flint loses hopes in his invention. But that’s when a burger rain starts pouring on the city, showing that the experiment worked and attracting the attention of news networks as well as that of Samantha Sparks (Anna Farris), an aspiring weather reporter.
