Berserk - Guts Theme | Piano

The theme song for Guts, the wandering swordsman that struggles between seeking revenge for his fallen comrades and protecting those close to him. This is a rather peaceful and longing theme for a character that suffered so much. When thinking about the structure of this piece, it can be divided into two different sections, A and B, with each having a transition section in them as well. The A theme is rather simple in terms of harmonic complexity, sustaining over an E major chord for its entirety, but it&this simplicity that makes it so reflective and peaceful. In the original recording, there are strings that are sustained throughout this section. The piano can&sustain notes like strings can, so I repeated playing the sustained notes at the beginning of each measure. I think what makes this B section so impactful is that it offers some dichotomy after the simplicity of the A section. The emotion from the section I believe represents Guts&longing for Casca.
