[ANDARE e VENIRE | Learn Italian with Vaporetto Italiano] In order to speak Italian naturally and fluently, it is very important to learn how to use the most common Italian verbs. Did you know the Italian verbs ANDARE e VENIRE already? These two verbs are very important in Italian and for this reason I’ve created this blog post, to help you understand their correct use. Using these verbs correctly, will make your Italian sound more natural and fluent. What&the difference between the Italian verbs ANDARE and VENIRE then? Both ANDARE and VENIRE are verbs of movement, but they imply different directions. 1) ANDARE means to move to a place which is far from everyone involved in the conversation. “La domenica ANDIAMO al mare” (We GO to the seaside on Sundays) In this example, the people involved in the conversation (we) are not at the seaside. The seaside is far from them. In this case we use the verb ANDARE. 2) VENIRE means to move to a place the other person is or is going to be. “Vuoi VENIRE a casa mia?” (Do you want to COME to my house?) In this example, I am home and I’m asking the other person to come to my house. It implies a movement of one person toward the other. “VENGO al cinema con te” (I’ll COME to the cinema with you) Here the direction is from the subject (I) to the other person. The other person will be at the cinema for sure and I go with her/him. VENIRE always implies a movement...
