EMG Pickups! I&used them in some of my guitars for years, and today I&comparing the Het Set Combo to the EMG HZ set. Youtube audio always compresses things, but in the room I could definitely hear a difference. I like them both! Guitars today are my new Epiphone Camo Zakk Wylde Guitar, and my ESP LTD EC1000T CTM M that I&had for a few years! JH Set consists of the JH-N (neck) and the JH-B (bridge). Both were patterned after the pickups James had used for 30 years, but the end result was a completely different animal. The JH-N has individual ceramic poles and bobbins that feature a larger core and are taller than the 60. This produces more attack, higher output, and fuller low end in the neck position. The JH-B uses the same type of core but has steel pole pieces, unlike the 81 that uses bar magnets. This produces the familiar tight attack with less inductance for a cleaner low end. Metal Works consists of six stainless steel cap options for any of EMG&active or passive humbucker pickups. The HZ set in the Epiphone Camo Zakk Wylde Guitar is the H4 and H4A. The H4 is EMG&best selling passive humbucker for guitar. Combining the power of our active 81 with the soul of a passive PAF, this pickup produces a well balanced tone, with tight bass response, glassy mids, and crunchy highs. These tonal features are achieved by utilizing over wound coils loaded with ceramic bar magnets that are fully shielded to reduce noise.
