La Bella Black Nylon Tape Wound Jazz Double Bass Strings 7710N Demo & Comparison

I&heard jazz double bass players using black nylon tape wound bass strings before, and I&always thought that they sound great. However, I&never tried them myself until now. So, I&bought a set of La Bella Double Bass "Professional Jazz Strings" set no. 7710N. In this video I&putting them on my bass, and comparing them to my previous set of strings which are steel core D&Helicore Hybrids. It¬ really a fair comparison, because the D&are old and the La Bella&are new. But I wanted to document it anyway, and I&glad I did. What I learned is that the Nylon strings have great sustain and lower tension than the steel core strings. I feel like the lower tension really works on double bass in a way that it doesn&on bass guitar. The longer scale length of the double bass makes the tension just right.
