Overall, I am a big fan of tube preamps, but since a viewer recently asked me about a more budget-friendly solution, I thought to test this little preamp, which seems to be a great combo with the Behringer XM8500 microphone. Especially beginners, who want to try podcasting, live streaming, or YouTube, maybe benefit from a combo like this. Experienced users may instead gravitate towards more expensive pro gear, but for beginners that can sometimes be overkill, simply because the entry level gear can produce quite decent results as well. And as long as you use an XLR microphone or interface, you can always combine different prices of hardware later down the road. Some people may decide to use a USB mic instead, for its simplicity, but I think it is not as flexible later on, and having the option to use different audio interfaces or a tube preamp is much nicer in my opinion.
