How to fix leaking Eheim Professional 3, 2071, 2073, and 2075 canister filters.

If you have experienced a leak in your Eheim Professional 3 canister, and it did not help replacing the seals, this video might be helpfull. :-) The leak can be present on models 2071, 2073, and 2075, and it usually shows up after about a year in continuous use. If you have a drip, you can test to see if this leak is present, or if it is just a broken seal, by tipping the canister while it&running. If water puors out, it is most likely this leak, if the water still ony drips, it is probably just a bad seal. The reason for the water pouring out when you tip the canister is, that it is an internal leak, so the water slowly fills up the inside of the pump head, until it starts dripping out, and when you tip the canister, all the water inside the pump head comes out. if you attempt this repair, i strongly suggest that you test out the pump in an area that won&get water damage, i also strongly recommend you let it run for at least a week, in a place where you can keep an eye on it, before hooking it back on the tank. But most important of all, PLEASE remember to lubricate ALL seals (also the internal one), when re assembling the pump. IF you have this pump, and it does not leak, you can reduce the risk of leakage by NOT using the primer button.
