📍A217 London Road, Reigate, Surrey, England 🛤 North Downs Line | nearest station: Reigate 🟡 x 4 | 🔴 x 8 | 📢 x 2 | 🚧 x 4 ___ 🗓 30-10-2023 🕑 14.41 🚇 1: 13.20 | 2O24 - Reading ➡️ Redhill | Class 165 (Great Western Railway) ___ ℹ Approaching the end of its journey, a Class 165 rolls into Reigate station with a Reading to Redhill local service. This is the last level crossing on the North Downs Line before Redhill station. The crossing is still controlled by its adjoining signal box, and the barriers themselves appear to have been manufactured by Smiths Industries in 1995. It was raining when I got here and I had a good 40 minutes&wait for a train, so I went and stood in a nearby bus shelter. The adjacent station gets a terminating service from London Victoria as well as this line&trains, but since they enter and leave the station at the same end, you don&see any of them here at the crossing. I don&know why I was surprised, but a van parked in front of the camera and obscured the lights, which was annoying but we all know it¬ uncommon. I moved the camera once the barriers had been lowered, but in all fairness I could have started from that angle. The lights don&stop flashing until the barriers are fully raised, which is unusual! Odd piece of trivia: from the first entry in the Domesday Book in 1086 until the 1190s, Reigate was called "Cherchefelle". 📷 Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus | 4K (UHD) @ 60fps © C&S Network Do not use any video without permission...
