Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and your body weight evenly distributed between both feet. Your arms should be in a defensive position, with your hands up and palms facing forward. Grip Control: Establish a strong grip on your opponent&gi (the traditional Judo uniform). You can use various grips, but a common one is to grab the lapel of their gi with your dominant hand and grip their sleeve with your non-dominant hand.
