2008 Ford Escape Coolant Temperature Sensor change

Changing the coolant temperature sensor in a 2008 Ford Escape *2008 Ford Escape 3.0L 6 Cylinder Engine* Noticed that the temperature gauge on the dash quit working, which is sensor related, so I changed the Coolant Temperature Sensor, and fixed the issue, and the orange engine light went off. I then purged the air through the radiator hose and the vehicle is running fine.
