Finally got my hands on a consumer grade Dell :) This was a budget purchase for a fellow employee who needed something than a 10yr old laptop that I&rebuilt many times for them. Like the 5000 series Inspiron 17 I reviewed, this unit has a good bit of chassis flex to it. Has the same mediocre trackpad, as well as the chiclet style keyboard I¬ found of. The biggest negative to this unit is the flimsy LCD rear cover. In the video you can see me easily flexing the screen. They should have used aluminum or thicker plastic to keep it rigid. I give this laptop a 5/10 mainly for construction. At $275 after coupon and taxes, it&hard to beat for a full size 15.6" laptop with an i3 series CPU. Fan noise was fairly tame. It took a good bit of work to get the fan to come on. If you&in a quiet room, and are just surfing, you can hear the hard drive spinning/moving. Heat felt from the heastink was average on the left side of the keyboard. Wasn&too overbearing even after running BurnInTest Dell Outlet: Google +: Facebook: Camera(s): Canon HF R500, Edited with: Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Audio: Zoom H5 Handy Recorder **This video could contain affiliate links.
