Today, we’ve got a full review of the fairly recently released Roland HP704. This is Roland’s top HP model, and essentially represents one of the entry points to the top half of Roland’s lineup. Piano Overview Roland’s top home line is their LX line, which features their top action, sound technology, speakers and cabinetry. The HP line is next up, and the HP704 represents the top HP offering. While not as advanced as the LX series instruments, the HP704 is still a professional quality, upper tier instrument. Piano Sound Roland has loaded up the HP704 with their SuperNATURAL modeled piano engine. This was their top engine until recently with the release of the PureAcoustic engine, but the SuperNATURAL engine is still a highly relevant, highly musical engine. It offers limitless polyphony on acoustic piano tones, and 384 notes on all other patches. The Piano Designer function allows the user to edit a whole bunch of effects, such as key touch, ambience, brilliance, master tuning, and many more. There’s 324 total on-board sounds, basically all of professional quality, and the LCD user interface makes it super easy to navigate the various sounds.
