The Genius of Lothar Meggendorfer. A Movable Toy Book 1985 Intervisual Communications Printed and Bound in Colombia Paper Engineering by Lothar Meggendorfer The movable pictures included in this book are from Meggendorfer editions published prior to 1900. Lothar Meggendorfer devised intricate levers, hidden between pages, that gave his illustrated characters enormous possibilites for movement. He used tiny metal rivets -actually, tight curls of thin copper wire- to attach the levers, so that a single pull-tab could activate all of them, often with several delayed actions as the tab was pulled further out.
