Cacu seems a basic simulator to give an estimate odds the motor temp for those who do have on in their motor. Even though its a simulation, if it reaches motor overtemp (normally 160C), it will throttle back the controller. The key to using it is set it so it shuts the controller down before the magic smoke comes out of the motor. Of course its not a replacement for a temperature sensor, but rather than you mentally tracking how much battery charge you turned into motor heat (I know what you’re thinking, did he fire 5 shots or 6?), this will do it and throttle down so you know to put your hand on the motor and either give it a cooldown period or keep going. Heres a short video on what it does. 0:00 TempSensor Cacu 0:05 I set motor RatedPower to 400w to show the effect of Cacu when it thinks you have a tiny motor 0:13 it seems to start at the controller temperature. Makes sense. 0:29 after a brief time at 30a, the motor temperature gauge already climbed several degrees C 1:18 another few bursts of raw power (30a) and its climbed several more degrees. 1:39 now i raise motor rated power to 2500w. 1:48 notice it resets temperature each time you change the variable. 2:33 now after about equal time at 30a, the temperature gauge only went up a few degrees C. 3:00 you can tried various rated power until you find one that is good.
