LEGO NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander 10266 Review & Speed Build

Join me as I unbox, speed build and review Apollo 11 Lunar Lander from LEGO Creator Expert, a 1,087 piece LEGO set recreating the 1969 lunar landing of The Eagle which took astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Eugene (Buzz) Aldrin Jr. to the Moon. The LEGO 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander recreates the Apollo 11 Eagle on the lunar surface complete with the lander&ascent and descent stages, two Apollo 11 LEGO minifigures and the American flag. LEGO&NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander is a detailed LEGO set aimed at builders 16+ and carries the LEGO Creator Expert badge indicating a complex build. We completed the 10266 NASA lander set in just under two hours. The finished Apollo 11 Lander set is nicely detailed and is perfectly compact for display at around 8 inches square. The Apollo 11 LEGO Lunar Lander has both an descent stage and ascent stage which can be detached. The descent stage is a really neat LEGO recreation of Eagle and comes with many spray gold LEGO elements representing the gold thermal shield. Hidden flaps reveal an RCA command module TV camera and a reflective plate installed on the moon so scientists could bounce lasers and measure the distance from Earth to Moon. The NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander LEGO ascent stage showcases all of the computer technology that was used to guide the Apollo missions to the moon including the Apollo Guidance Computer designed by Margaret Hamilton and her team at MIT.
