Patrick Franziska (born June 11, 1992 in Bensheim ) is a German table tennis - national player . In 2016 he was European champion in doubles. Career Patrick Franziska began his career at TSV 1875 Höchst . He then moved to SV Mörlenbach and then played in the TTC 1947 Elz. The right-hander became 2007 European student champion with the team and won in 2009 with the junior team the second place in the World Cup. In 2010 he became European Junior Champion in singles. Furthermore, he is multiple German Junior Champion. In 2008, Franziska took part for the first time in Hamburg in the German Championships for adults. He was originally intended only for the individual competition in which he retired in the preliminary round. Due to the cancellation of other players, he was able to start but still in the men&doubles with the Hamburger Kay-Andrew Greil . In the quarter-finals they succeeded against the number three seeded Nico Christ and Lennart Wehking after defense of two match points a narrow 4: 3-success and thus the entry into the semifinals, in which the future champions Patrick Baum and Dimitrij Ovtcharovthen a number were too big. Thus Patrick Franziska was the youngest medal winner of these championships. At the European Championships in 2010 Franziska moved for Bastian Steger as a substitute in the national team.
